The working mechanisms of bridge cranes, such as the lifting mechanism and hoisting mechanism, are generally driven by motors. The motor has a high speed ratio, and the speed ratio of these working mechanisms must be much lower than the motor speed ratio, which requires a reducer between the motor and the working mechanism. At the same time, the torque of the motor is relatively small. After passing through the speed reduction device, the torque is greatly increased, which also meets the needs of the working mechanism. Gear reducers are widely used in cranes. Gears have the advantages of reliable operation, large transmission force, stable transmission system, and high mechanical performance. Gears have open gear transmission and closed test transmission system. The working standard of open transmission gears is poor and easy to damage, so it is best not to use them. The closed test transmission system is a speed reduction gear installed in a closed box body as a separate component, so that the gear has a good working condition and better lubrication. This separate component is called a reducer (or gear reducers).

Types of crane reducers
The standard gear reducers commonly used in bridge cranes are vertical (ZQ type and ZQH type) and column type (ZSC type). In recent years, many new types of reducers have also appeared, such as QJ type, QS type, SHQ type, GJWQ type and TQ type, especially QS type, reducer and motor form a "three-in-one" operation organization.
